COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Board Member, Mount Vernon Lee Chamber of Commerce, 2004-2007, 2009-2011 and 2018-Present.

Michael has served Mount Vernon Lee Chamber in various positions such as Board Member, Treasurer, Vice President and President. He chaired the golf committee for several years and successfully increased the amount of scholarship monies raised and given to local students.

Chair, Fairfax County Park Foundation, Board of Directors, 2020-2022

Michael serves on the Fairfax County Park Foundation focusing on fundraising for various capital projects and/or improvements to existing facilities.

Chairman, Mount Vernon Lee Chamber of Commerce 2012-2013

Michael served Mount Vernon Lee Chamber as Chairman in 2012 and filled in the last quarter of the 2013 term where he was known for focusing on and achieving goals important to the organization.

President, Mount Vernon High School Athletic Booster Club 2011-2014

Michael managed the Mount Vernon High School Athletic Booster Club, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization, organizing fundraising events throughout each school year in support of the athletic programs.

During Michael’s three years as President, he successfully organized the MVHS community to lobby local elected and appointed officials from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Park Authority Board, and School Board for $1.5M in public funds for two synthetic turf fields at MVHS. The turf fields were constructed during the summer of 2014.
